Return to online poker
  blade55555, Dec 15 2014

About a month ago I got back into poker after playing a live game at a friends house (20$ buy in, 10$ rebuy). Didn't do as good as previous games and lost out at 6th out of 16. That game though made me realize how much I missed poker (fuck you black friday) but after searching found bovada.

I don't care for the anonymous tables because I never used that software and I had a lot of learning to do. Before black friday I was never really good, but I would play the poker stars 2.20 180 man sit n go's a lot and place top 3 about half the time (I see a lot of people think I am doing a subtle brag, I didn't play this very much lol 10-15 times at the most, placed top 3 in 6 of them iirc correctly). Looking back at it though I always knew I was bad, but with what I know now my god I was super terrible and I have no idea how I won those 180 man sng's at all.

I'm still bad and I know it. I am not playing Poker for a living just a mix of fun and maybe a little bit of a side income. I am watching streams (jcarver mainly), reading and all that fun stuff. I have invested 60$ into it and on Saturday I played a 2.20 1k guaranteed tournament and placed 2nd taking a nice 240$. The most I had ever won previous to this in 1 tournament/sng was 108$ for first on the 180 mans. The ending hand I had QC9S and he had K7o. Flop came with Q, 9, 2. We both had about the same amount of chips I had 1.3 million chips and he had 1.45 or something like that. I check, he shoves and I call. Looks great and I thought I had it won easy. Turn is a 7. Ok whatever odds of him hitting another 7 or K on the river is unlikely. Well he flops another 7 and takes me out.

I was sort of annoyed, but was more happy at my progress in poker lately in both cash and tournament poker. I am making a lot more deep runs and I played a 1$/50cent cash game and ended up going from 30$ to 90$ in about 30 minutes (Got AA, KK back to back and won each one for most of my profit).

Bankroll wise I shouldn't be playing that kind of cash game, but I don't care I do what I want . I don't have as much time to play poker during the week due to work, play for maybe 2 hours or more depending how I do in a tournament or if I am playing cash that. In general fun stuff and keep learning a lot and hoping to keep going up instead of down, but only time will tell .

Also going to be playing my first live poker tournament next month as I am going to Florida for a vacation with family. I googled and saw there are some poker places that run 55$ tournaments and my brother and I are going to play it just for fun. Going to try my best, but not expecting much considering I have never played live poker like that, but going to try and be as prepared as possible!

Decided to play poker
  blade55555, Nov 28 2010

So I was playing Poker alot back in May and stuff while playing the sc2 beta. Well after starcraft 2 came out I haven't had any inspiration to play poker. I decide to log on my poker stars I just felt like playing in a tournament today. I had 2.63 cents left. I decide to play in the 180 man 2.20$ tournament for the hell of it. Nothing exciting happens then the blinds get to like 100 and i'm at like 1300 chips not getting any good hands. I get AA 2 people shove so I call and win the hand with a 3 of a kind.

Awesome things are going well for me. Some point in the tournament when the blinds were 600 and I hadn't been able to win any hands I get QQ and lose so i'm down to like a thousand chips again and there were still about 80 people left.

I get A/J same suit diamonds and shove. 3 people call me and I win, well its a start. I shove with 10/10 and a guy calls me and I win. I kind of get lucky with these shoves and people calling me with hands that confused me (2/7 off suit lol).

So anyway somehow I make it to the final table. 3 guys knock eachother out within 2 minutes. I get KK and shove as the blinds were 1.5k by now. I win and get to 30k chips. I get A/J hearts. I shove, another guy shoves with 9/9. I get the Jack on flop. Last card he gets another 9 so I go down to 15k chips. Then I get 10/10 and out of a bit of frusteration I shove and same guy calls me. I win vs his 99 which he got again. Then from there I won the whole tournament with the final hand was my AK vs his A7 with me getting the king on flop.

Just thought I would share so won 108$ and probably going to try to get back into poker again. can call me a fish or whatever but sure was fun and exciting when I only planned on playing this one tournament for fun as I was bored

Finally :D
  blade55555, Jun 08 2010

So finally after a couple months (wow already?) of poker I am finally starting to get into final tables for the 2.20$ tournaments quiet a bit recently.

My first week of poker I got lucky and won 40$ and thought I was the man (later lost that 2 days later and have sense stayed with tournaments way more fun ).

Made it into some final tables here and there won 9$ which isn't much but finally when I make it to the final table I am able to get in the top 3.

Yesterday Got into a final table 3 of us left I shoved an A/7 both spades and the guy called with 9/9. Unfortunately I did not get my ace nor flush (believe there was 2 spades though might be wrong ). I got my 7 but not enough so I ended up losing and was kind of annoyed with myself even though it was my first time and I did win 42$ (most I have won so far in any tournament). I feel I shouldn't have shoved but whatever thats in the past.

Today I made it into the final table (after literally going all game with low low chips). When we got to the last 18 I literally had 5k chips everyone seemed to have at least 20k. I ended up shoving with J/5 (blinds were big and couldn't wait any longer). Got lucky and won sweet I was now at 10k chips sweet but still way behind. Lost a hand and went back down, somehow got to 20k with 10 players left. Some guy named enterthelynx who has been calling me a donk/fish flaming me all game I ended up taking him out (AA he had J/5 rofl). That guy was a chip leader for a little bit then I beat him 2 hands in a row (JJ, then with AA taking him out). Both times he had a dumb hand so I don't know why he was so retarded flaming me and calling me a donk when he would call with the dumbest hands ever.

So final table 3 people left. I am chip leader. I shove with AK this guy shoves with 9K. He gets 2 9's I am now down to 5k chips. I somehow miraculously come back from that to 60k chips, ended up taking the third guy down which brought me to 60k while the chip leader had 220k.

Awesome I was happy to get 72$ no matter what. Kind of boring then I shove, he calls I win so now I have 220k chips he had like 100k. We both go all in me with J5 Diamonds him with 95 not suited. I got my Jack and 5 awesome I got this. The last card that flipped gave him a straight and so I ended up going down to 30k chips and lost from there .

But otherwise thought it was awesome I have made about 110$ or somewhere around there the past 2 days and I tend to be making it to the top 10 more and more which is awesome although I know its poker and I will go through phases right now I am just happy because with all the money I have put into poker stars all together (80$ all together I believe). I am up by 30$ (haven't been able to play too much in May due to school).
